Panama City, Panama

Here are some pictures of fireworks and the sunset in Panama City. Elizabeth (finally!) arrived after a few days of flight delays and some general incompetence on the part of Spirit Airlines. But, she´s here now and we are in Bocas del Toro, enjoying the beaches during the day and the bars at night. Pretty soon we´ll head back to the city so she can get her flight back :-(
It all goes by so fast...

Panama City, Panama

View from the hostel, Luna's Castle

Blurry view from the hostel, in blue. Turns out my camera does some cool shit.

A pimped out city bus. They call these diablos rojos (red devils...)

View from a different window in the hostel

A building under construction, like most of Panama City

School kids lined up

Another building under construction, but this one's cooler

View of Panama City from the tip of Casco Viejo

Random picture of some building

Hopefully more to come...I will be in Panama City a few more days at least!

Bocas del Toro, Panama

A beach on Isla de Bastimentos, Playa Zapatilla

Diana and me at the beach...

Another beach (it's an island!)

Sunset from my window at the hostel, Mondo Taitu. If you ever go to Bocas, stay there and Dan and Dave will hook you up (thanks Dan!)

Another beach (different one- this one is Bocas del Drago)

San José and Turrialba, Costa Rica

-The bus to San Jose. This trip was supposed to take 5 hours. However, there was a ¨bridge down¨, and it took about 10 hours. Apparently we had to circumvent the entire country because of this damn bridge.
-Ok, I actually don´t have any pictures from San José. Trust me, it looks like a big city.
-Next picture is the river where we went white water rafting in Turrialba to Siquirres, Costa Rica. It was scary and amazing and I want to do it again.
-After rafting, waiting for our ride...happy to have made it out alive!
-A truck through the rain

Granada, Nicaragua

-The sun through bamboo shades, in front of a beautiful church whose name I cannot recall
-Another beautiful church...I will look up these names if anyone cares...
-An engraving next to the church, trying out the recently discovered ¨supermacro¨setting on my camera!
-Lago de Apoyo
-The colonial city center of Granada
Keep this city in mind...it might end up being my home for the next few months!

Big Corn Island, Nicaragua

-Old ships by ¨The Bluff¨
-The turquoise water of Corn Islands...my life really sucks
-Our bill from a restaurant with our ¨change¨. If they don´t have coins available to give you the change you are owed, you get candy instead. Fair trade.
-Sun setting, boats, etc.
-Diego and me, on the boat to go snorkeling
-The beach just outside our hotel door
-Una niña playing on the beach

Leon, Nicaragua

-A street in Leon. The building is part of the main cathedral, the largest in Central America.
-A turtle who lived in our hostel.
-Nicaragua will be free as long as it has children that love it. (this is my rough translation)
-A lion guarding the main cathedral.
