Cartagena, Colombia (South America!)

-Mud bath, from mud volcano. More of these to come.
-Ruins of an old castle we visited, called San Felipe.
-View from the top of the castle.
-Diego loading his canon, as usual.
-Me between some castle walls.
-Weird picture on the side of a food vendor´s cart. This kid seems to be enjoying some sort of bloody kebab.
-Sunset from the wall between the old and new cities, Cartagena.
-Sunset with a flag...
-Several pictures of Cartagena at night. I was there during the day too, but I thought the nights were much prettier.
-The three boys practicing their miming skills after the mud volcano (Diego, Drouyn, Olivier)
-Yvonne and me in the mud.
-Yvonne and Diego engaging in their favorite activity: picking each other´s noses. This time it´s in a restaurant in Cartagena where we had our usual: rice, beans, wilted iceburg lettuce ¨salad¨, and a fried egg. Mmmmmm....

¨Fritz the Cat¨, Boat Trip from Panama to Colombia

-The sky at sunset. This was one of the first nights, before I got sick of gorgeous sunsets. Ok, I never got sick of them.

-The first fish we caught, after much yelling and chaos.

-A shot of the Kuna village we nearly destroyed with our massive boat.

-A series of pictures of the Kuna children... They were so excited to see the photos of themselves, and I was happy to oblige; indigenous children are my favorite kind! The Kuna woman (photo somewhere in the midst of the kids) was not so happy to be my subject, but I bought a piece of cloth from her for $5 and then she was ok.

-Last of the Kuna village pics: an old man in front of his canoes.

-Sunset picture with me and the muchachos: Olivier (from France), Drouyn (from Australia, not the middle east as you might have guessed from his garb), and Diego, my slow, slow, Swiss amigo.

-A man who sold us some crabs, which were delicious.

-Another sunset...

-The boys taking pictures of the sunset...

-The sunset from behind a makeshift clothesline.

-Fritz and me! Finally arrived in Cartagena, dirty, tired, and incredibly relieved.

-The US coast guard ship. Thank GOD they were there to watch over me! Team America, World Police.

-The last sunset photo, this one with ships, from the shore of Cartagena.

Bocas del Toro, Boquete, and Panama City, Panama. Again, but this time with a sister.

-At the hostel in Bocas, hanging off the porch. Maybe not the safest move, but it was for the sake of art. And we were drunk.
-Low Monkey? At the start of a beautiful misty hike through Boquete, Panama.
-View from the hike, with said mist.
-This is actually a corroded pipe, but I thought it was beautiful. I know, I know, again with the art...
-Cutest cow ever.
-Waterfall along the hike.
-Another hike view.
Now Panama City:
-The Panama Canal, a proud US accomplishment. Only 27,500 people died during construction (of course, the US can´t take all the credit. They have to share it with the French).
-Elizabeth and me at a statue of Morelos. I wasn´t being dramatic, it was just really sunny.
-Ruins in Panama Vieja, in blue.
-More ruins in Panama Vieja. This was basically a run down ghetto with a bunch of anachronistic ruins. It is apparently no longer the safest neighborhood, as we were warned 3 times to get out of this part of town. Peligroso.
-Yvonne, Elizabeth and me, out on the town in Panama City. As it turns out, not much happens on a Tuesday...
-Mangoes around Casco Viejo, the neighborhood where we stayed. Actually, all the rest of these pictures are various places around Casco Viejo. It was a broken down, crumbling colorful gem of a city. My favorite kind.
